Cassie Scharber and Rita Karl (Twin Cities Public Television) presented a poster at the recent 2016 National Science Foundation (NSF) ADVANCE/GSE Program Workshop Broadening Participation: Research, Interventions, Impact in Baltimore, Maryland (May 22-May 24).
This workshop brought together leaders from the NSF ADVANCE and the Research on Gender in Science and Engineering (GSE) communities to discuss research and development work that synthesizes quantitative and qualitative approaches affecting gender composition and representation at all levels in STEM education and STEM education workplaces.
Scharber and Karl represented the team working on the SciGirls Code project (#1543209), funded by NSF’s STEM + Computing Partnerships (STEM + C) program. The SciGirls team is comprised of Joan Freese (TPT) (PI), Cassie Scharber (UMN) (Co-PI), Rita Karl (TPT) (Co-PI), and Karen Peterson (National Girls Collaborative) (Co-PI).
