Three members of the Bright Stars Project team — Yolanda Majors, Nick Ross, and Anne Crampton — recently presented at the Minnesota Center for Reading Research's Summer Literacy Workshop (August 8, 2016). This annual workshop brings together K-12 educators and school literacy leaders from across the state to learn about the latest literacy research and its applications to classroom practice.
The team’s presentation, “Noticing the nuances: Expanding our gaze on student engagement,” shared initial findings from the project’s study of classroom settings, and engaged participants in conversations about what can happen when we consider the varied ways that youth take up opportunities to engage in learning through technology.
The Bright Stars Project is funded by a research grant from the W. T. Grant Foundation.
