LT's Dr. Angel Pazurek has been appointed as the country director for the midwest region of the United States for the International Higher Education Teaching and Learning Association (HETL). HETL is a professional organization serving the global higher education community through thought leadership, professional development, global advocacy, and peer-to-peer learning. Country directors are exemplary leaders in higher education who represent HETL to the global higher education community in their countries/regions as a means to help promote the mission, vision, and values of HETL around the world.

Angel leads the LT undergraduate minor program and teaches both undergraduate- and graduate-level courses. Her scholarship focuses on critical digital pedagogy and learning design in adult and higher education contexts. And her current research interests include learner engagement in online contexts, the use of social media for connected learning in online college courses, and international initiatives in open and distance learning.
