Orono Middle School visual art teacher and LT adjunct instructor, Lockie Chapman recently received the outstanding news that she was one of 100 educators in the nation recognized as a PBS Digital Innovator. The award celebrates educational leaders in educational and instructional technology and those incorporating digital media in the classroom.
Lockie also received TIES Exceptional Teacher Award in 2011 near the time that she began preparing future art teachers at the Learning Technologies Media Lab. Prior to teaching, Lockie worked in arts administration for the American Film Institute and the Walker Art Center. Interestingly, she earned her M.Ed. degree in Art Education in 1997 and pursued a multimedia instructional design certificate in 2004 from the University of Minnesota.
