Dr. Angel Pazurek collaborated with educators at St. Olaf College last week by leading a workshop on ways to integrate digital technologies for authentic learning and engagement. This professional development opportunity for faculty was a part of a Summer Institute organized by St. Olaf's instructional technology and library support staff. Pazurek presented a philosophical framework for thinking about effective technology integration in liberal arts instruction and a pedagogical design model that focuses on the learner experience. Faculty participants then explored and considered ways to incorporate digital tools in their own courses and learning activities that encourage students to share their knowledge and perspectives in creative ways. Examples were shared from LT's innovative courses, including how our instructors use social media, podcasts, and digital storytelling to transform the way we teach and the way our students experience learning as more meaningful and authentic.
