Dr.Cassie Scharber, the associate professor of Learning Technologies program and also the director of L+T Collaborative, has been named Assistant Dean for Professional and Online Education in CEHD. In this role, Cassie will lead distributed education efforts and initiatives within the college specific to professional and online learning. She will provide support and guidance to the Office of Teacher Education and other units overseeing professional programs in the college.

LT's Angel Pazurek received a special invitation from the Lindahl Academic Center for Student Athletes and the University of Minnesota Athletic Department to the Gopher football game on September 11, 2021 against Miami (Ohio) University to honor her work with student athletes.

The 2019-2020 school year begins with three of our Learning Technologies (LT) students taking on leadership roles within our department, college, and university. Sarah Barksdale, a third year PhD student, begins her second year as president of the C&I Graduate Student Association (CIGSA).

LT staff and PhD students, Dr. Cassie Scharber, Lana Peterson, and Yu Hui Chang co-led a half-day Makerspace workshop for elementary teachers at Galtier Community School in St. Paul, MN. This LTML team co-led the workshop with Marc Patton, Galtier's technology integrationist.

Educators from schools and libraries participated in LT Code Camp, a two-day professional development workshop focused on integrating computer science and computational thinking activities into education.
