LTML offers Makerspace workshop for teachers

LTML’s Lana Peterson and Cassie Scharber, along with Austin Public School’s, Amy Thuesen, recently offered a 6-hour workshop on Makerspaces at the Lakes Country Service Cooperative in Fergus Falls, MN.

Over 40 teachers from northwestern Minnesota participated in the hands-on workshop that 1) introduced participants to the core characteristics of a Makerspace, 2) provided participants an opportunity to use tools and technology commonly found in Makerspaces, and 3) engaged participants in practical planning for Makerspaces at their school.
The fun-filled day included a presentation from Variquest Visual and Kinesthetic Learning Tools on the possibilities of 3D printing within Makerspaces.
If your organization or school is interested in a workshop on coding, Makerspaces, or other technology integration topics, please contact Lana Peterson.
