We are very excited to welcome Dr. Bodong Chen to the faculty for LT academic! Bodong’s area of research is at the nexus of learning technologies, psychology, and data analytics. His primary research involves devising novel environments and learning analytics to uncover new competencies among young students. He researches online learning, including Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), by applying data mining techniques to explore the relation among student intents, behaviors, and learning outcomes. Bodong is interested in the digital divide in education, and investigated technology use in Ontario public schools during his time there. He is also an R hacker, delivering workshops on topics such as reproducible research and data visualization in R. Outside academia, Bodong enjoys hiking, swimming, rock climbing, and spending time with his friends and family. Please help us welcome him to the University of Minnesota and LT!
