LT PhD candidate Jolie Kennedy publishes MOOC article in JIOL

A new article on MOOCs by LT PhD candidate Jolie Kennedy has been published in the Journal of Interactive and Online Learning (JIOL) and featured in The publicity surrounding massive open online courses (MOOCs) overshadows the lack of academic research about it. Kennedy’s study applies a systematic review of research using a within- and between-study literature analysis situated within the context of online teaching and learning. Results reveal varied definitions of openness, barriers to persistence, and two distinct pedagogical approaches.
