Daryl Boeckers, LT Teaching Specialist, led teachers of world languages in a series of professional development workshops hosted by the Bureau of Education & Research. “Making Best Use of Apps, Digital Devices and Other Cutting Edge Technology Tools in the World Language Classroom”
took place on October 19-21 in New Orleans, Atlanta, and Cleveland. Each 6-hour session served as an opportunity for teachers to learn about available technologies for the world language classroom as well as contextualize some familiar tools in the second-language setting that focus on supporting and challenging all learners. The workshops also highlighted purposeful technology integration of mobile technologies, challenging teachers to engage their students in higher levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy.
