North of Sixty Expedition Map

Six North of Sixty° explorers, led by Aaron Doering, LTML co-director, are gearing up to undertake an expedition in April 2013, pulking from Qikiqtarjuaq to Pangnirtung in Nunavut, Canada. The team will also visit schools and interview teachers, students, elders, and others in both communities, while providing regular online updates about their journey and educating learners worldwide about the local culture and the changing landscape and climate in the Arctic.

The North of Sixty° team will journey across Baffin Island through Auyuittuq National Park. Their travels will take them through a stunning landscape of ice, rock, and sheer granite mountains, as they pull their gear and food in pulks that, when loaded, weigh several hundred pounds each.
