Chuck McGill, LT Teaching Specialist, and his wife Sonja were Honorary Coaches for the Gopher football game against San Jose State on September 21. The academic advisors for the team invite two faculty members to be honorary coaches at each home game. The McGills were guests at the team dinner at the Sheraton West in Minnetonka the night before the game. Saturday morning they participated in the victory walk with the team, the recruiting brunch, and pre-game warmups on the sidelines. They then enjoyed viewing the game from great seats behind the Gopher bench. The Gophers beat the Spartans 43 to 24 — Go Gophers!

“I have several football players in one of my online classes,” Chuck said, “And this was a great chance to get to meet them and experience a little of what they do. It really helps connect the academics and the athletics.”
