Held March 28 at the beautiful McNamara Alumni Center on the University of Minnesota campus, the North of Sixty expedition kickoff event was a fun time and a great sendoff for the team! Attendees from across campus and the local community came to learn more about the forthcoming expedition to Baffin Island in Canada, as well as view and try out the gear and technology the team will be using as they pulk between two small communities in the remote Arctic wilderness. Guest speakers at the event included Dean Jean Quam of the College of Education and Human Development, Canada Consul General Jamshed Merchant, and Scott Johnson, Director of Teaching and Learning for the Centennial Scool District. We sincerely thank the speakers and all who turned out for the event! The North of Sixty team is more excited than ever to get the expedition underway. Less than a week until expedition launch!
